Well it made me laugh Chopprs and sometimes, at my age, that's the best I can hope for. We heard about a mishap where the daughter of an oriental lady went forward in the garage instead of backwards, damaging the car and the steps into the house. I heard about it as people were discussing how it could possibly have happened, being a smart bottom, I said it's quite easy to explain, being Oriental she looked on the transmission shifter saw "L" and thought that stood for "Levelse". Some may feel this to be the unkind mocking of a minority group, but bare in mind I am from a minority group myself and am regularly mocked for my inability to speak American, which after all, it is my 2nd language. It seems everyone can claim to be some sort of minority group, or be entitled to some kind of positive discrimination program, or claim protection against any critiscism of their religion, unless they are White, Male, Heterosexual, and Christian - if you fit these categories you have only yourself to blame for the things that haven't gone as well in your life as you'd have liked, you cannot blame your woes on some huge conspiracy. I was not making some racist slur, or implying any superior race BS, as you want to imply Pogo, just making a satirical comment on how those who are White and Christian are now viewed in society. I'm sure you will find many others who feel the same way, as we have to pussy foot through all things PC and bend over backwards to accommodate everyone else's views, while our own beliefs and standards are mocked and criticized in a manner that would instigate riots or demands for resignations, if made about anyone else in our society. |
