I'm really tired of of media groups, like CNN, making a big deal out of small issues that they call "gaffes" to dog the Republican candidates and make them seem like they are making major mistakes. These media groups are the ones driving these non-issues and trying to make people think they care about them. It's just stupid. Who's talking about Obama's gaffes??? http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/02/politics/romney-gaffes/index.html |

I'm tired of it too - but it was also utterly expected. How else can the media get their beloved hero re-elected, certainly not by dwelling on facts and real issues. |

Yah, but unfortunately, the sheeple watching the news seem to be buying the garbage these liberal media groups keep putting out. Has anyone noticed that, although the broadcast CNN has been more balanced, the online CNN is as liberal as ever? |

I don't look at anything CNN if it can be avoided, it's bad for my health. "Yah, but unfortunately, the sheeple watching the news seem to be buying the garbage these liberal media groups keep putting out" It worked to get Obama elected last time, so why mess with the formula? |

Here's something interesting: MSNBC says that the reason more and more Republicans are endorsing Mitt Romney is because the Republican Brand is now "damaged goods" and they are trying to wrap up this nomination quickly--it's NOT because these candidates actually SUPPORT Romney; they are just trying to save the party from this ugly mess. Hehe. Good one. Now that's some nice liberal spin for ya! http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/05/10582427-first-thoughts-damaged-goods |

Here we go again! CNN: "Romney doesn't excite voters." (Translation: Romney doesn't excited voters at CNN.) http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/05/opinion/brazile-gop-primary/index.html This is getting really disgusting. |

Ya think? Check this one out--Bill Maher, the "potty mouth" liberal equivalent of Rush Limbaugh, gets a pass from the media for saying comparable, or ever worse, things about women than did Rush. And nobody in the mainstream media cares? http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/will-obama-super-pac-return-misogynist-bill-mahers-million-dollar-donation_633200.html |

Since I am a glutton for punishment, I watched MSNBC against list night. I usually record O'Reilly, Hannity, Lawrence O'Donnell, and Chris Matthews, then do a lot of flipping forward to skip stupid stuff, including a lot of the talking heads segments. Last night I watched parts of Lawrence. It was painful to watch, so I did a lot of flipping--but I did want to point out one segment. He was interviewing some Republican senator or congressmen--I forget who it was, and I could see why they picked him, because he was a bit timid, and mostly an unknown. Anyway, Lawrence asked him why the Repubicans were so obsessed with the Rush Limbaugh comment, and kind of laughed about it as a gift to Obama. Well, the Republican legislator basically told him that the Republicans were NOT talking about it--people like HIM in the liberal media were doing that! The Republicans were more intersted in jobs, the economy, gas prices, etc. ZING! Lawrence defended himself, but looked stupid, because the timid Republican nailed him pretty good. Of course, Lawrence denied it was true, but surprisingly, let the guy speak. When he was done, he brushed off the guy and moved to a liberal talking head segment, heading RIGHT BACK INTO the talk about Rush Limbaugh and how the Republicans were going down for this, particulary Romney, because he took a whole FOUR DAYS to respond to it. So, he admits that the Republicans are NOT talking about it (specifially Romney), but then says they are obsessed with it. I thought it was great. At least some of the liberals watching only MSNBC might, I say MIGHT, actually see what happened. At least the opportunity was there to see the truth, but I dunno if the liberal sheeple will catch it. I also saw a segment about Gingrich doing the same thing on NBC (not sure if it was MSNBC, but saw the peacock on the screen, but it was a clip on FoxNews). His response was even better and is no doubt scoring Gingrich points again for attacking the media. It's all interesting, tho. Maybe the more conservative news media will jump on this "gaffe" by an MSNBC political talkshow host. |

same can be said about FOX news, it all depends on what side of the political line you are at the time of viewing. I will admit though most media outlets tend to slant things in favor of the left. I usually watch the local news as they seem to be somewhat fair. One thing I CANNOT stand is when a FOX or MSNBC show invites someone to provide their opinions and instead of letting the person answer their given question they are cut off and forced to answer three more...that's bull crap as when they are attempting to answer the new questions they "apologize but that is all the time we have now" and cut the guy/gal out. Waste of Time! |

That's somewhat true, Satchel, but MSNBC rarely interviews people from the right, and when they do, they beat up on them much more than FoxNews does on the left. Most of the time when I watch MSBC and they have the talking-head panels, they are genearlly always liberal and they beat upon the conservative point of view and make fun of how stupid all of us conservatives are. Sometimes they add a conserviate in here and there. FoxNews REGULARLY has the liberals in their discussions. And they hit the liberals pretty hard, too, but the biggest problem is that MOST of the national media is liberal-leaning. FoxNews really is the only big media outlet out there that slant toward the conservatives. |

And because I am a glutton for punishment I have to say Fox News "slants towards conservatives" Is the same as saying CNN "slants towards liberals" I hate to point out the obvious but what it is is what it is. The real question to be answered is why can't we get a news station that "slants towards nobody" and just reports the news?? |

Fortunately for our country, CNN has taken from the example of the higher-rated FoxNews and put some conservatives on their discussion panels. Frankly, I like wataching CNN for election MORE than FoxNews, because they seem to have greater reach to get inside news. For example, last night CNN found out about Romney's extra cache of votes in Ohio that would put him over the top, LONG before the official numbers came out and LONG before any of the networks got that info--although Carl Rove on FoxNews was predicting the same thing, given his homework on where the outstanding votes were--but it just looked like Rove was wrong as the numbers kept coming in--until the very end. MSNBC on the other hand, seemed giddy that Santorum looked like he was going to win Ohio, saying things like, "Wow, I wonder how the Republicans like the sound of President Santorum. Have they tried saying that? This could be a big change for them" and then they'd laugh about it. They didn't have any clue that Romney was going to come from behind to win. So, kudos to CNN for being more objective. Unfortunatley, their web site hasn't taken the same path. (And, honestly, when CNN"s two female political analysts come on, I'm GLAD that I DVR Fox and CNN at the same time, then keep swapping between them, so I can fast forward what they have to say. I'm talking about the black lady, Brazil, I think, and the bowl-haircut lady, Gloria somebody, I believe. Couple of bozos, in my opnion.) |

Yeah, but there needs to be professionalism no matter the political affiliation as their shows do impact the population in some ways. When I invite someone over to my house they are my guest and are treated to whatever proper comfort I can afford. I see these talking head panels and then I see our government acting the same way...just a bunch of hot air with maybe some obscure truth in with it. I understand Fox is alone in the conservative t.v. media outlet and they are trying to take back ground that had once been dominated by libs and there is some fairness to that although I still don't care for their(or any) aggresiveness and constant slant on common news. I watch mostly CNN out of the big three as they have less political discussion than the other two but of course I am aware of their liberal slant...problem is some people are not! |

I think the talking-head panels have been one of the STUPIDEST inventions of the modern media. When these 24-hour news stations don't have news, they MAKE NEWS by inviting people to talk about things. Most of the time, I'm not interested in watching these people argue. It's just mainstream Jerry Springer with a moderator. Stupid. |

More pointless "gaffe" talk. Come on, media guys (and Santorum this time), this is really a non-story. This time it wasn't even by Romney, but from one of his advisors--and they are taking out of context what he said. People are so stupid. http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/21/10797801-romney-says-hell-run-as-conservative-amid-etch-a-sketch-gaffe |

The etch and sketch statement was not even a gaffe in my reading of the statement in context. It seemed the guy was talking about the difference in the campaign tactics against BHO compared to competing for the GOP nomination, I didn't see where he was talking about Romney changing his policies or re-inventing himself. |

Exactly. Going against Obama is a clean slate. Forget about all of the in-party fighting during the primaries. The game is on! People are just wanting to slap another so-called gaffe on Romney, because it's been fun in the past and the race is going to be boring now that we have basically picked a candidate. Like I said, PEOPLE ARE STUPID. And they are MORE STUPID if they think we're buying this crap. |

Wes: Fox does that. Fair and balanced. You are just so used to listening to leftists, that it looks like a right slant to you. We have had this discussion before................. You have to leave the news portion and go to the commentators like Hannity, O'Reilley etc., to get the right lean. Or to Rush. He is right leaning. A little.............. |
