A while back there was a discussion about ankle holsters and the difficulty of drawing a mini from a pocket while seated. I carry my Pug in my front pocket, and it is pretty hard to draw while seated. I usually wear a wellington boot when out and about, so I decided to try to design a boot holster that I could draw from while seated. I chose my LR mini as the boot gun, because it is slightly thinner than my Pug or Mag mini. I wanted a holster that (1)could not come out of my boot, (2) my mini could not come out of the holster, (3)I could draw from easily. This is my prototype. It is not a thing of beauty with the odd holes and bad stitching, but it is quite functional. I have worn it serveral hours at a stretch and can forget it is there. I know that not many men these days wear this type boot, but has anyone seen any simular holster for any type firearm?
Note that the holster attaches to the pull loop. Not all pull loops have enough slack inside the boot for this.

I've been using a right hand iwb in my left boot off and on for awhile it has a simple metal clip. I'm thinking about a kydex style for retention purposes. This looks pretty good though! Maybe a thumb-break would be in order for some speed drawing? |

Jupiter - I did not want to use a clip because I just do not consider it secure enough in my boot. The thunb break might be better. Patriotjoe - do that and I will buy it. |

I don't wear boots much anymore, but I find this to be a really neat idea, especially the way you attached it to the boot. Like Jupiter7, I feel a thumb break is a good idea, and almost a necessity. |

Dinadan --> I don't have a comment on the holster, but those legs deserve to have something said about them! |

C M Coop, you're a genius. The ankle holsters NAA sells will fit around a boot, too. |

I kinda figured it was something like that. Nice job of re-finishing it. It looks factory. |

Dinadan, I have not heard from you. Do I need to hold on to the holster and wait for a money order? |

Being right handed I ordered a IWB RH holster from NAA for my Pug. I wear it in my left boot on the right side. Works pretty well. |
