I believe the guy who banged in her bedroom door had a knife, So, I just was watching the 5 PM news and they showed the story. After seeing the girl, I can say now with a fair degree of accuracy that the guy was not after her son! | ||

There is no doubt that if this young Mother had not been armed, there would have been a very different news report for this incident. What callous bastards to decide to go and presumably rape and probably kill this women especially when it seems they knew her husband had recently died from cancer. Getting shot was the right outcome for such behavior, although I can't help feeling it was too good for this particular individual. You really have to feel for the poor women, her husband just died and now she has this to deal with. I wish the best for her, I think she deserves a major change of fortune, after all she's been through. | ||

He had a knife - so turning in all guns would not help. She had barricaded herself in a room, retreating first - so they cannot claim she was just waiting to kill someone. On the phone for 21 minutes with 911 - cannot talk about the police providing protection. Kid in the room with her - the kid did not accidentally get the gun so it did not "injure or kill a loved one". Trust me, the anti-gunners hate this story. Add to the fact she is a widow (her husband died of cancer on Christmas) | ||

my guess is: DON'T SHOOT! On a related subject; did you folks see the write up that was blaming the shooting of the ranger by the Ex GI in the Washington park on the recent loosening of the rules on carrying guns in national parks??????? So they think that the psycho killer would have stopped at the boundary of the park and said: "Well, I WAS going to go kill someone in the park, but it is illegal to take guns into the park, so I guess I cannot do that..." He would not want to break any laws about gun carry while killing the ranger you know.......... I wonder if the anti gunners ever stop to listen to what they are saying? | ||

gunr..."anybody know what he had to say?" one news story said the accomplice stated the dead attacker was hooked on pain meds and since the husband was dying of cancer he thought there was drugs in the house. they poisoned/killed 3 or 4 of her dogs in the past month or so in order to make the breakin easier she was prepared and sure kept her cool supposedly she sold some of her husbands guns to help with funeral costs but kept the 12g and one pistol | ||
